The capsulated stopper is a natural cork stopper, natural clogged, agglomerate or micro-agglomerate on the top of which is placed a capsule. This capsule can be made of wood, PVC, porcelain, metal, glass or other materials.
The capsulated stopper is usually used for liqueur/generous wines or in spirit drinks, ready for consumption as soon as they enter the market.
The major examples are most of the Port wines, the Madeira Island Sherry wines, the Calvados, the Setubal Muscatel as well as the whiskeys, vodkas, cognacs, Armagnacs, brandies, liquors and other spirit drinks.
This is a very practical stopper for bartenders and consumers as it allows for easy reuse – a very important factor for bottles whose contents are not consumed at once.
